Thank goodness another reviewer suggested using a hairdryer to heat up the openings where the legs attach! There was no way the legs were going to be possible to insert but with 30 seconds of the hairdryer on high and aimed directly at the insertion holes I was able to pound them in using a rubber mallet with a towel protecting the legs (also recommended by a reviewer). It really does take a village:-)
