I would have been disappointed. I wanted an IKEA Karlstad which are priced .

If I could, I would give 4.5 stars, but I didnt want to give it just 4, so I gave 5. I paid 199.00 with free prime shipping so my review is based on that price point. If I paid the 270 + tax that it is currently priced at, I would have been disappointed. I wanted an IKEA Karlstad which are priced competitively at 399. Problem is, I live in a rural area, the closest ikea is a 3.5 hour drive, and shipping to my region from ikea is 350 for anything. You could buy a spice rack and it would be 350, or you could buy a whole house full of furniture and it is 350. This is very similar in style to the karlstad, cheaper, and free shipping, so I pulled the trigger. It will serve as as a temporary couch until I can get to an IKEA or move to a city that has one, then be moved to a guest room/office. It definitely pulls off the mid/century modern look. Not the most comfortable thing, but impressively comfortable for a 200 futon. I fell asleep on it last night. The cushions offer good support, and the size is great for me at 60. I will add some throw pills to give the couch some depth and to add some comfort. The fabric is nice to the touch and has a nice appearance (I got the grey one). It it has a nice texture. It doesnt scream this is a futon and looks more like a couch, at least when pushed against a wall. It can easily serve as a primary sofa in a small apartment, contrary to what the other reviews say. I have sat on 400 serta couches that are less comfortable. I suspect, though, the serta/type couches will hold up better over time. Assembly was easy to do by myself. Took me less than 45 minutes, though I used a ratchet rather than the tiny wrench that comes with it. It would have taken considerably longer trying to assemble it with the provided tool. You wont find a better futon for 199 if you are looking for the mid/century modern look, You would be hard pressed to find a real couch with a mid/century modern look for under 500 outside of IKEA, so if you are on a budget, or have limited options in your area, I might consider paying the 270 asking price, particularly if it wont get much use. The middle legs ARE plastic, but mine were brown. Some reviews said theirs were black. They are visible when looking at the couch from most angles, and they do somewhat detract from the look, but that is the nature of futons and should be expected. The legs dont look cheap or painted like some other reviews said. They ARE cheap, and ARE painted/veneered, but they look real and nice, even up close. Cons: Cushions are wrinkled, probably due to the fabric not being pulled very tight. Putting it in couch mode makes this worse, as it compresses the cushions at the bottom/back. That said, I think it might be something that is the result of being folded and stuffed in a box and might get better with time and use, and is not bad enough to knock off a star, particularly if you plan on adding some pillows, which will hide the problem. Overall I am pleased with the purchase. I dont have any photos yet, but it looks exactly as pictured. You wont regret it!
