Now I was surprised at the secret zipper in the back. So cool. I know my son will love that. My husband and I are not little people and that bed didnt move! It is very sturdy if you actually tighten the screws and bolts. Directions are super simple. You will need a small drill or powerful electric screwdriver to properly secure the slats. Directions are simple and I did it myself in about 45 minutes. The color was dark gray just as expected. Does it smell?? Well yes a little but it was made in a factory and shipped in layers of plastic, styrofoam and cardboard, last I checked those are not odorless. Spray it with febreze and let it air out. It has been 2 days and the smell is almost gone and I spray it 3 times a day all around and sprayed inside the headboard before I closed it up. Not rocket science. So in conclusion, great value, sturdy, easy to assemble and as described.
And FYI I am super picky about things but also know price equals quality. This one surprised me.
