It comes in two separate boxes.upon opening the first box that has the bottom and middle bunk bed their was no directions.after going through the whole box looking for directions I had to open the second box.which was a headache because Im putting this bed together in a small space.after putting the beds together you find out that in the first box it is not the bottom and middle bunk but the bottom and top bunk.:/ After putting the second box together I had to take off the top bunk to put the middle where it goes and than put the top back on.their were scratches on some of the boards. You would think as much money as you spend for this bed it would come better packaged and you dont have to root through boxes to find the directions or boards scratched up.also alot of the bolts were very hard to put in and is what made the process of putting the beds together longer.
