I bought this bed for my 16 year old son who outgrew his twin bed with a headboard and footboard. He is 6'2 and 160. I bought him a full size platform and our mattress is full size. it fits well, not snug at all, making it easy to tuck sheets under mattress. This was incredibly easy to put together, no tools. I built it myself (I'm 50 years old and have weak hands) as a surprise for my son. It took no time at all. Seriously, like 20 minutes at most. The amount of slats holds very solid. I think as long as someone is not doing gymnastics or jumping, This bed will hold up. Claims It supports 900lbs and I believe it. My son will be able to take it to college in 2 years because it will come apart as easily as it goes together.
