My husband assembled the bed and he did require help to put it together and get up. The bed is definitely sturdy and feels pretty heavy! I do love that it is metal (so much sturdier than wood) but has the look of wood! Our daughter loves that she can stand underneath it (she is 10) and now has more space in her room.
