My sectional sofa is as old as the hills, and I've been wanting to replace at least the worst pieces of it for some time. When I saw this futon, I didn't hesitate! This futon is simple to assemble, fairly sturdy, and looks great in my living room!
I really like how the two back sections can be adjusted independently, and it's easy to lay the backs flat or sit them up, and they stay in place solidly when upright. It's comfortable enough as a couch, with throw pillows and reasonable expectations, and a far cry better than my old one. I am not the biggest fan of firm foam, but others in my house are.
The legs are tall, and give plenty of clearance underneath for sweepers and vacuums, or storage space- I love that! They're thick and sturdy too, and work well with the look of the couch, and the round leg shape is easier on the feet with accidental bonks.
However, it is not comfortable as a bed to me. I can feel the joins on this futon when its laid flat, and the firm foam is uncomfortable. I intend to get a mattress topper for when it is used for sleeping, since I'm such a picky sleeper.
Since the fabric cannot be removed for cleaning, I've put twin sized sheet on the couch; it fits perfectly, and stays in place when moving the pieces up or down together, and a fitted sheet type waterproof protector would also work well on this couch.
Overall I'm very happy with this futon, and think that it's excellent for freshening up a living room without spending a lot, and it's space-saving function as a spare bed makes it even better.
