The instructions are easy enough as long as you apply a little common sense. I picked this bunk bed because I needed extra room in my kids bedroom. The fact that it was made out of metal was another reason. The bed is strong and sturdy for my 2 boys. I gave 4 stars only because the squeaks every time they move even the slightest bit. For the price its a good bed
