I purchased this bed after a long search. The description seemed like exactly what was needed by my husband and I. We needed something sturdy, with storage space underneath that didnt cost us an arm and a leg.
The first thing I was impressed with was that the bed arrived a full three days before the estimated delivery window.
The box that arrived was stood up at the doorway and to my surprise was much lighter than I expected. Had me worried about its quality at first.
I brought it in to the house, checked all the parts, and prepared for the assembly. The entire process from unboxing to completion took me a good two and a half to three hours. Much longer than I expected. I also found that one of the other reviews of the bed was correct in that the supplied wrench got rounded off and would not tighten the screws about halfway through the assembly. Luckily, I have my own tools and had a hex bit of the correct size to complete the installation. I would suggest that if youre going to do your own assembly, you use a wrench with a hex bit and not an wrench. It is much easier to tighten the bolts that way. However, be careful as you can tighten them so much as to bend and dent the frame.
So far, the bed has lived up to its description. It is sturdy. It does not squeak even under the most energetic bedroom activities and believe me our bedroom gymnastics are very energetic. In fact they are the reason we had to get a new bed frame. Let us hope that over time, the bed lives up to it good reviews. I have no reason to believe it will not.
Besides the difficult assembly, I would say my only other problem is with the corner protectors at the footboard. First of all theyre not much of a protection as you can see in the photos. In fact, one of them came off the day after they were installed and for the life of me I cant make it stay on. Were going to have to find out something else to protect our shins from getting scarred up from those corners.
