Sturdy and relatively easy to put together. 6 year old hasn't wanted to sleep in parent's bed since. One thing we needed to add was some split tubing over the ladder steps; they hurt my son's feet and I was afraid he was going to slip and bust a tooth. We split some rubber tubing from the hardware store and extended each piece to the right of each step so that it can't spin. Helped a lot. Also, I recommend choosing a mattress that is not very deep if this bunk is for a younger child so that the railings are high enough to actually function as a safety feature.
