Im really not sure there was so many review saying this desk was horrible. Its perfect for my middle school child. Perfect for small spaces. Sturdy. Easy to put together. Just take your time and use a hand held screw driver. Thats really what will mess up the plywood and strip the hardware. No scratches nothing broken or messed up. Im pleased with it. Directions are super easy to understand.
