Great option for a small office

I work at home and tend to sit at my desk for 10/12 hours a day, and have done so for many, many years. So when Bloomberg Businessweek reported in June 2012: A raft of recent medical research has shown that the more time a person spends sitting every day, the more likely he or she is to suffer from heart disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer, and, worst of all, an early death. Well, okay . I think its worth looking into giving a stand/up desk a try. Thing is, a good stand/up desk can run into many hundreds (even thousands) of dollars. Not only are they financial overkill, the footprint of the item tends to be significant. I have a very crowded office and removing my existing desk is not an option, so I was looking for something that I could add into my relatively small space that would enable me to easily switch back and forth between standing and sitting. This is exactly what I was looking for. Its built solidly, the footprint is small, and it even adds a little extra storage space for magines and odds and ends. Im still not used to standing up and working, but anything that helps mitigate changes of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer and an early death is a good thing, so Im going to stick with it for a while. (By the way: Another reviewer noted that when assembling the desk, there was space between the pieces. I experienced this during assembly, too, but turning the tightening bolts counter/clockwise enabled the pieces to rest together without space. Kudos, too, for the packaging: Not only is a screwdriver supplied, but in addition to the little bags of individual hardware parts theres one labeled spare with one of each part, just in cast there was a packaging error along the way. Smart.)
