Not the easiest assembly, but sturdy for young children

It took me about 4 total hours to complete by myself with my two kids (4 and 3 years old) hanging out with me trying to "help." I would recommend keeping the wrenches where you can see them at all times as you NEED both of them (unless you have additional wrenches you own). It's been sturdy so far and my kids fight over the top bunk all the time. The biggest issue we have is that going up/down the ladder portion caused the ladder posts to come undone, one of which ended up bending a screw. Now I can no longer put that post back in and the ladder only has 2/3 steps up. Also, with a lot of wiggling some of the additional screw will come loose, for us it was specifically the side of the top bunk that would keep you from falling out the front. I just check occasionally to make sure nothing is loose and tighten what is. The bottom bunk is actually extremely spacious - I can sit upright on the bed and I don't hit the top bunk at all. I think it's pretty ideal for younger children. Although if your kids are anything like mine, you might need to reinforce that it is NOT a jungle gym. (:
