My son has a small room (10x10) and this bed provides more space. He and his uncle assembled the bed over a few hours and so far it's working well. One of the things my son didn't plan for is changing the sheets. Please be mindful that it isn't as easy as changing sheets on a traditional bed. Also, we used pool noodles to pad the stairs. Without padding, it hurts the feet when climbing up/down.
