I bought this for the office at work, and while it isnt secure enough to keep someone from breaking in (and destroying the cabinet in the process), it is definitely more than adequate to store employee and customer information hard copies until they are sent to our corporate office. The short drawer at the top has a small gap (enough to fit a few sheets of paper stapled together), and serves as a sort of confidential information inbox for documents that contain sensitive info. Both of us that have keys (there are two keys included) then go in and file whatever docs have been inserted through the gap in the top filing drawer (the lock secures both the short drawer and the top main drawer). Highly recommend!
