This bed is really nice. It is wood, not mdf. My only complaint is that the trundle drawer doesn't go all the way under the bed, it lips out. I plan on putting slides under the legs of the bed to slightly elevate it so the trundle drawer is completely under. This is not a flaw per se, but a design flaw in my opinion. Yes the trundle drawer is included with this bed. All you add are mattresses. This bed is easy to assemble and can be done by one person, though two is always easier.
