Parts were misaligned; could fix with some playing around
Once I finally got the chair together it is exactly what I expected, but it took me a few hours to put together.
So in theory the holes in the chair legs line up with the base for the screws to go, but the holes didnt line up so the screws couldnt be secured. With enough playing around I found that if I remove a wedge hidden in the chair then I could get the holes to line up and the screws could be used. I later replaced the wedge and glued it in place.
I dont know how long the chair will last, but I at least was able to put it together with a little problem solving (which really shouldnt happen).
