Well-fabricated, sturdy, handsome little storage bench
I should start by saying I found this bench for nearly half the price at Lowes, and got them to deliver it for free with a promotion. I was thrilled and should have gotten two because this little bench is great!
We have a rather wide, enclosed front porch and it has become overrun by my husbands car parts and tools and paint cans (the result of being the only house with no garage and a Master Mechanic/Jeweler) as a husband). I got sick of looking at all of that hardware everyday and decided to attempt to organize the porch with functional solutions. I saw some mudroom transformations on Pinterest and decided this was where Id start.
To my husbands delight, I put it together myself. It was quite relaxing (I love cam locks, and this bench is full of them). It is not advised to use a power drill here — all you need is a Philips, Flathead and a hammer. Do yourself a favor and lay everything out according to the directions. I found my A and B panels were either mislabeled or the directions had a mistake, however, the bench came together just fine and my husband was quite impressed. We both sat on it together, and there was no flimsy business at all. I stood and then jumped on it, and Im a healthy women. It supported us just fine.
My husband said it could only have been better in black, so I told him to put his shop stickers all over it and make it his own. He loved that idea and I plan to add some Sharpie art to it over time. The bench seat is almost Coppery. It doesnt look cheap like the picture. And if you want fairly matching fabric baskets, the Mocha ones are pretty close. Cant wait to hide his stuff and have some cool looking seating too!
