I researched the heck out of nursing chairs and made a spreadsheet for all the details. I considered dimensions, user reviews, materials used, type, etc etc.... In the end I chose the Emerson chair with matching ottoman and got them as a baby shower gift. I am so happy with this chair. A lot of older negative reviews mentioned an installation defect (the wrong assembly parts were shipped). It seems like they fixed this before Feb 2019 when I ordered the chair. Its a heavy chair and comes in 2-3 pieces in one giant box. My hubby assembled it; it wasnt easy as pie but wasnt horrible either. I started using it after baby was born in May 2019 and spent hours upon hours a day in it. Nursing, rocking, story time. The chair is very comfortable and provides great back support. I am 52 and 150 lbs and havent had any issues with wear-and-tear or creaks. Its the right height and depth for me. A boppy fits if you tilt it a bit (which feels better on my back anyway). And now that the baby is too tall for the boppy I cradle his head on a chair arm and its still quite comfortable. It rocks silently and is still beautiful in his room a year later. I recommend covering the seat with a blanket (for postpartum grossness) and keeping arms covered with burp cloths (for vomit). Ive been doing this and the chair still looks brand new. Def a good buy and a good value.
Still great a year later
