It is soft and looks lovely in my room. I wish the backing was just a bit higher, as Im 53 and its at my shoulders. The legs screw in fine, but the chair rocks/sways a bit. Like the legs stay flat but the chair body will lean on the legs slightly towards whatever direction you move it.
