This is a nice sturdy bench. the foam top is comfortable, my cats like it especially. the whole unit looks nice, and i like the large amount of storage. It fits all my shoes, they might stick out 1cm or so, but thats no big deal, they dont stick out much. I have size 9 mens shoes.
Assembley i can see being a problem.
/First, the first few steps of the instructions have you assemble/connect all the middle shelves, as if unit was flat on its back, but you do not connect them with any hardware, just sloting them together, so it is very flimsy and does not stay together until you start adding the long top part and long bottom and sides. then the unit becomes very strong.
/second, there is a mistake in the instructions, on one of the pages i took pictures of, you can see the items needed at bottom corrner are Hardware a and c. but the picture shows a and b. it is a mistake, it should say c in the picture, not b.
/third, they combinded 2 different hardware pieces, and called them both c, which for someone who has used these types of connectors before would be ok to figure out, some others with less experince will be confused.
/forth, they make the instructions extra complicated by haveing upper case A as a side piece of wood, and lower case a as one of the hardwares, and puts them both on the same instructions page. it would cause confusion or second glances for some people.
/fifth, there is no feet to go on the bottom. I used my own rubber stick on feet, but it would have been nice if it came with some rubber or felt feet for it.
Once made, it is great. Please with this purchase
