I didnt assemble this chair, but the handyman who did said it was not a problem. I bought this for my husband who, among other problems, had a difficult time getting up off the couch we had. This not only solved that problem, but it allows him to charge his phone and his watch while watching TV, and he cant lose the remote for the chair, as he does for the TV, because it is attached. An excellent value for the money. Cute and comfortable
