This could have been a piece of garbage. It is not. I took another reviewers advice and applied leather conditioner liberally. It now DEFINITELY looks far more expensive than what we paid for it. Its comfy to sit in. Our dogs adore, and their nails have not destroyed it. So win/win all around for us. Exactly what I was looking for
