This is inexpensive furniture and for that I think its a fantastic piece. Yes its a little short, but the dimensions are listed clearly and it actually fit perfectly in our space. It took a few days to get used to the look / its low to the ground / but then it felt like it belonged. It actually opened the room up a lot because of not having a high back to block the view. I usually put together all of our furniture myself and this required 2 people and a lot of pushing to get the back attached. I really love the look of the material. And yes it is a little firm, but not uncomfortably so. The one down side for me is that the back top corner looks cheap if you dont have the back against a wall. When you attach the arm the back then attaches via velcro and that doesnt sit perfectly and just looks cheap. Ours isnt against a wall so it was bugging me every time I walked past. Fixed it by putting a throw over that corner, but something to keep in mind. Overall really happy with the purchase! Functional design
