I was able to assemble it within an hour by myself. No tools needed. There are some gaps between the back and seat cushions that allow you to see behind the couch. However, the cushions come vacuum sealed, so as they fluff up these gaps may decrease. If not, its nothing a few throw pillows cant cover. Cushions are a bit firm, but I havent used the couch yet so theres the chance they would soften over time. Im 54 and I can lay down comfortably.
