I am happy with my purchase it is a bit firm but I like that about it. I am still not sure why that extra piece of wood came with it but I just place it under the couch for just in case I find out what it is for... As far a laying down on it, its not an issue for me because I am short but i would use it for letting ppl sleep on it anyway.
