The bed is quite beautiful and sturdy. I would give it 5 stars but it was a challenge to put together. It took me (Im 5 months pregnant btw) 5 hours to build and I did have to get my husbands help for some parts that require two people. BTW I love to build things (furniture included) so Im pretty quick and experienced.
PROS
Beautiful
Sturdy
Unique
It came quickly (with shipping fee).
No missing or damaged pieces.
Directions are ok with MOST pieces marked.
CONS
Time consuming to build but not hard.
The most complicated part of the build had the pieces mis/marked (AB CD) so once I got the pieces together, I almost had a nervous breakdown when the next step wouldnt work because the pieces were mis/marked. I had to redo the hardest step which added to the timeline.
Some of the hardware pieces share bags, so when I was organizing the pieces I originally thought I was missing things, but after careful review everything was there (just in shared bags). I found this uncommon.
Some boards have holes on a specific side but there arent indicators for which direction to install them (facing forward or back) and you have to check several steps ahead, or guess, which way to go. It does matter.
Building the 2nd frame was not hard but I recommend paying attention to squaring it properly yourself, there arent predrilled holes to indicate that everything is straight.
The bed is impossible to remove from the room once built (if you have a standard door).
*It doesnt recommend a tape measure, but youll need one.
Overall
I would recommend this bed for those who have experience building furniture…i.e. ikea is super easy for you (because these directions do not compare with ikea).
But make sure to double check the next steps before your complete a step because the pieces can be mis marked or need to go in a specific direction that isnt listed.
Ps my 2.5 year immediately started trying to swing from the roof so keep that in mind if your kid is a climber Better then I thought
