I’ve never been attracted to accent chairs. Most are rigid and formal and highly uncomfortable so people don’t actually use them. They just fill up the lonely corners of the living room. Then I came across this model and fell in love. Finally an accent chair that looks inviting! The fabric is a soft, yet rugged chenille material that is wonderful to the touch. It seems as if it will hold up well to use. The color is a deep, dark blue that can appear black in low light making it blend in well with almost any decor.
The chair arrived on a truck in an L shaped box. I was able to get it from my patio up the stairs into the house by myself once I had it out of the box and I’m a fifty year old female. It was enclosed in a drawstring bag to protect it from dirt and dust. There’s a zippered compartment underneath and the bag inside contains the legs. It took me about five minutes to screw them in and it was good to go. The pillow at the back is loose so it can be adjusted higher or lower depending on the person. The seat cushion also comes off for cleaning and is held to the chair with a velcro strip. When sitting in it, it feels very solid and well built and doesn’t creak or move at all even when I rocked in it. It holds up to three hundred and fifty pounds and I do believe it would.
The seat was very firm at first, but has started to give a bit more after sitting in it on and off for a week. I wish the arms were just a few inches higher to make it truly comfortable and something I would want to spend more time in reading rather than just the occasional sit. Pairing it with a footstool helped a great deal in making it more relaxing. If they don’t already have one, they should sell a matching one to this chair to finish the look.
