I love this chair! The cushion is definitely firm so be ready for that. Both cushions are detached so they can be flipped, which was important to me. The is not good for animals with claws as the weave may catch a nail (say if a dog was to repeatedly jump on and off). I believe children would be fine though. Its super sturdy, as I have a family member who is quite heavy and the chair has held up perfectly. As for myself, I have bought a couple throw pillows and fallen asleep in it. Although, it is good to note the chair does not come up high on you back. When all is said and done, yes this is pricey but, it a hard wood frame (not pine), holds heavier weight people and has a cushion I *think* will last. So yes, in my opinion this chair is totally worth it. Better directions.
