my dad is 62 with arthritis was having difficulty standing up from furniture. He fought me buying this for him, but within a couple days called to thank me. My mom now says it is the only chair he uses. Really helps keep him independent. Also he naps daily in it, so it is comfortable. Like that it has a remote vs a button on side of chair, easier for my dad to use. Definitely highly recommend suggest you get it whether someone thinks they need it or not / because they will benefit
