The very first piece we attempted To assemble started out rough. The dowels lined up but the bolt holes did not. We took a chance and removed the dowels and then the bolts lined up with the holes. We were concerned that we would run into more issues but we did not. We have 3 other upholstered beds and have never run into difficulty with assembly. The bed looks very nice and will hopefully be as sturdy as the others. Very sturdy.
