Adjustable Comfort (Adjustable bed base w/wireless remote and USB ports)
I ordered this full/sized bed base from in November 2017. I expected to receive it about a week later. For some reason, the carrier transported the unit from Washington State (origin) to the Washington, DC area some 2500 miles from my home in Southern Oregon. This glitch disrupted my moving plans. promptly notified the carrier, canceled the order, and refunded the cost (399)//thanks. I thought about purchasing a higher/priced bed base from another manufacturer. I ultimately reordered an Adjustable Comfort base because, in addition to the low price, it had most of the features I wanted.
When the newly/ordered Adjustable Comfort bed base arrived several days later, I opened the very heavy box (100+ lbs.) with some trepidation, expecting to spend at least an hour to assemble it. To my surprise, the bed base took less than 10/minutes to set up. The easy to follow instructions (with pictures) showed how to assemble the frame, legs, motors, power supply box, and control box. (Note: Although I successfully flipped over the assembled bed by myself without breaking the legs or causing some other kind of damage, I recommend two people do this task if at all possible.). Once the bed was fully assembled, I successfully paired (synched) the wireless remote control with the control box located under the bed; the instructions detail how this critical, but easy task is performed.
The first day, the bed base worked flawlessly. It quietly and quickly assumed all the advertised positions on demand. I was elated with my new toy. The second day, however, the bed failed to respond to any of the remotes commands. I tried various strategies such as replacing the batteries, checking all connections, and resetting the unit by unplugging it for 10 seconds—all to no avail. While troubleshooting, I happened to pair the remote with the control box anew—that worked. About three days later, the same problem arose. I immediately reached under the bed and placed the remote near a designated spot on the control box to resync. Much to my chagrin, over the next month, I had to resync the remote and control box at least a dozen times. I kept hoping that the problem would somehow resolve itself.
One night the remote and control box would not sync no matter what I tried. I was about to write the bed off as useless. As a last resort, I decided to seek help from the manufacturer. On or about January 10, 2018, I called customer service at Adjustable Comfort. The woman I spoke with couldnt have been more congenial, professional, and helpful. I described the problem, and suggested that the remote might be faulty. She agreed but added that a malfunctioning control box was another possibility.
To make things right, the customer representative said she would FedEx a new remote OVERNIGHT, if I promptly email her proof/of/purchase. To my surprise, the next day I received two FedEx packages—a new remote AND a new control box. Kudos galore!! The replacement remote immediately synched with the existing control box. Since putting the new remote into service four days ago, Ive encountered NO PROBLEMS. My fingers are crossed.
Summarizing
Pros: EXEMPLARY CUSTOMER SERVICE, comparatively low cost; easy to assemble; smooth/quiet motors; seemingly a well/made frame (although I dont know the maximum weight it will support and still function properly// I only weight 175 lbs.)
Cons: Possible (initial) problem with remote and/or control box (a one/star deduction for that); and no back/light on the remote
In light of the manufacturers superior customer service, I would recommend the Adjustable Comfort base. I feel that if there is a problem of some sort, the company will cheerfully work with you to satisfactorily resolve the matter. My advise: Call sooner rather than later. Worth a buy.
