3 1/2 stars because its good but not all good

The price was affordable. I didnt mind having a hard sofa. After all, the ikea friheten is also a hard sofa but at a larger price compared to this. I like the way it looks. Looks expensive. With this quarantine I was finding people selling second hand sofas with stains for the price of a new one. So I thought why not just put in the extra money and get one that looks nice and is brand new. The sofa arrived super fast! Im talking 2 days and I had the sofa delivered. I live by myself, Im short, havent seen a gym since before quarantine (joke intended). Im not the strongest person and I was able to bring the boxes to my apartment by myself and assemble it by myself. Granted, I had a dolly to help but I was able to pick the boxes up and put them on the dolly by myself. So its definitely not a bad shipping arrangement. I will say, its not easy to assemble at all! The instructions are not all that helpful. They say to follow certain pages to assemble the long side on the right and then alternatively the ones for the left. I was assembling for the left side and the instructions for the left start by assuming you have done the initial instructions for the right but they never tell you something like do steps 1R/5R (example). So I kept finding myself thinking like, wait, I was suppose to have done that? When did it say that? Then had to go to the steps of the right and find the steps I was missing. I tried and tried and became frustrated because the sides would end up with the legs floating above the ground. I tried rearranging it. Finally, after a month I decided to switch the long side from the left side to the right. I thought this was where I went wrong because the instructions automatically go to the right side. I had seen reviews saying assembling for the right was easier than the left. Nope! Today, after another hour of just pure frustration. Finally following all the instructions. I concluded its a defect. If I make it so the arms are on the ground, the body of the sofa will be floating and be crooked. Theres no way of fixing it. So, I gave up and will now forever have floating legs. I guess I could add like a piece of wood and then add the legs to it. Get creative. But thats just too much work. Ill just pretend I dont see it. The sofa in the end was a purchase I made for myself to enjoy. And while it is petite sofa and made for someone like me standing at 52, my boyfriend who is 65 actually fits. We can both lay on it. Its not unusual for his legs to hang out of places and this is no exception. He actually likes the sofa and finds it comfortable. Just in case anyone talk is considering purchasing this sofa but is intimidated by its petite size. Taking all of this into consideration, I wouldnt have paid the price I did knowing the defect with the legs. I also wouldnt have purchased if I knew how hard assembling wouldve been. I can be very nit picky and the legs would drive me cry if I hadnt given up on trying to fix the issue. I would recommend this sofa only if the price is under 400. For the listing price, I wouldve expected more and no defects. Ideally I would give this 3 1/2 stars. I mean I like how stern it is and its actually more comfortable than the ikea friheten. But its just been a month of me being annoyed at it only to find out the sofa has a defect. And its driving my slightly perfectionist mind bonkers! Overpriced.
