Basically no assembly though I was able to get it up the stairs by myself (51 woman tho strong) with some effort. Its SO easy to maneuver and is fantastic to turn my office into a guest room when needed but takes up little space when not. I got a memory foam pad just in case guests think its a little too hard and it came with a sheet!
